Wedding Fayres

Questions to ask at a wedding fayre. Are you Busy planning your wedding? Make sure you visit a Wedding Fayre this year. Almost every wedding venue is holding one!

Enjoy a glass of wine on arrival, before exploring the venue; as well as meeting local exhibitors to get inspiration and advise to help plan your wedding day.

A little Background Truth

Wedding fayres are not free to exhibitors, with some charging up to £300+vat. Therefore, please don’t be intimidated by suppliers who do the hard sell.
While browsing the multitude of stands, you will notice many social butterflies with lashings of patter and charm, and equally there will be the quiet, seasoned, dedicated professionals with a wealth of knowledge.
Use your antennae, ask questions and tap in to their knowledge.

Advice At The Fayre

If you spot a product or service that you will need, go over and ask questions.

Ask how they began their business.
Ask where they worked before. This question will highlight their background experience. For example, a hog roast provider may have spent many years working in a resturant kitchen.
Ask how they can tailor their service or product to your dreams. Almost every wedding professional will have a niche or a unique selling point.

A Word Of Warning

At wedding fayres you may hear this sentence, “We are the best and highly recommended by this venue”.
Remember, some venues only recommend those who spend money and advertise in their wedding brochure. Which means fresh faced advertisers with little or no experience could also be a recommended supplier!
Many wedding brochures are produced by 3rd party printing houses, who hard sell their advertising space.
Therefore, always maintain good communication with all your suppliers.

The future of wedding fayres in our opinion is time limited. We think by 2026-27 there will be virtually no wedding fayres with suppliers in attendance.
