About Us - Our Story

Our Story

We began DJing in 1980, after building our first DJ console during woodwork lessons at Lairthwaite School in Keswick.
It featured TUAC Voyager Mixer, Garrard Turntables, and two TUAC 100w Amp Moduals.
We began with the name Love Express Disco to gain traction in the wedding market. Business snowballed and we quickly became established with a number Keswick venues: The Derwentwater Hotel, The Keswick Hotel, The Ladstock Hotel, The Keswick Resturant, and later the Armathathwaite Hall Hotel.

Following a short stint on BBC Local Radio, and three summer seasons working overseas in Corfu and Spain, we returned home to Cumbria to follow our passion of full-time party DJ.

1988

Following a move to west Cumbria and in receipt of a Princess Trust Business Grant, we formed the Roadshow.
As business grew the need for smaller satellite discos became apparent, and with family help two identical mini discos were deployed. They were named Flashdance disco and Flashpoint disco. Bookings for each exceeded all expectations.

Thank you, this DJs amazing.
I play the violin, and know a little about mixing music with the beat, and Michael (DJ) must be using a drum machine. The drum beats sound similar to the normal songs, and in key!
He kept our guests on the dance floor. And isn't shy about playing requests.
Highly recommend.
