Advance Disco has been a wedding DJ at
the Storrs Hall Hotel since 2006.
For two years wedding celebrations were held in the Georgian Room over looking Lake Windermere. The room has an amazing party atmosphere.
Wedding evening celebrations are held in the Drawing Room which is next to the main bar.
Because the room is hollow and unfurnished, sound bounces off the walls and creates echoes. It's advisable to reduce audio frequencies from 700hz to 1.8Khz by about 2db to compensate.
The room is approximatly 7 x 7 meters, and 3.1 meters in height.
There is no sound level meter, and a fog machine is recommeded as the Drawing Room has heat sensors fitted.
Loading equipment into this Georgian mansion is difficult. Although there are no stairs, the equipment has to be carried through an awkward doorway, through the main bar, and into the Drawing Room.
I have been a wedding DJ since leaving school, and it's a privilege to be working in such a beautiful area, coupled with the joy of doing what I love.
Music is the most importaint factor to keep happy feet on the dance floor. Many couples who marry at the Storrs Hall Hotel do not live in Cumbria, and as such communicate digitally.
